Meet the Team: Kelly Copperwaite, Finance Manager at DMT Facilities

We’re kicking things off with Kelly Copperwaite, our Finance Manager.

Meet Kelly

Kelly has been part of the DMT Facilities team for 2.5 years and is based in France.

As Finance Manager, Kelly plays a key role in keeping the business organised and running smoothly. While many people think finance is all about numbers, Kelly’s role involves much more than that.

When asked what a typical day looks like, her answer perfectly sums up the variety of her role:

“Invoicing / Adding invoices to system / Keeping up to date with the inbox / searching for suitable tenders / many ad-hoc items – No day is the same, which I love. 😊”

That variety is one of the things Kelly enjoys most about working at DMT Facilities. No two days are ever the same, and there is always a new challenge to tackle.

The Most Rewarding Part of the Role

For Kelly, feeling valued is one of the most rewarding aspects of working at DMT Facilities.

When asked what she enjoys most about her role, she said:

“I really appreciate it when my opinion is considered.”

At DMT, we believe good ideas can come from anywhere within the business. Every member of the team has a voice, and Kelly’s answer reflects the culture we’re proud to have built.

Learning and Development

Continuous learning is important in facilities management, regardless of your role.

Since joining DMT Facilities, Kelly has enjoyed developing her knowledge and learning new systems.

“I have enjoyed learning some new systems like Connecteam.”

As the business continues to grow, embracing new technology helps us improve communication, efficiency, and service delivery across the company.

When we asked Kelly what makes DMT Facilities different from other companies she has worked for, her answer focused on something we hear time and time again — the people.

“Mostly the people, I loved my previous employed job, too so it’s hard to compare, but I feel appreciated, which is nice.”

One of the strengths of DMT Facilities is our close-knit culture.

When asked what she enjoys most about working with the team, Kelly said:

“I love all of the team, I love that its fairly relaxed too..”

While we take our work seriously, we also believe that people perform at their best when they enjoy what they do and feel comfortable being themselves.

If Kelly could swap jobs with anyone in the business for a day, she would choose Managing Director David Marguet-Turner.

“David probably, I like overcoming problems, and I would definitely put the prices up 😉 however I would love the challenge that Dave has also… If I didn’t live in France, I would love to be more involved with clients and suppliers maybe..”

We’re not sure everyone would agree with the price rises, but we appreciate the honesty!

The Most Unusual Thing Kelly Has Seen at Work

Facilities management often comes with unexpected situations, but Kelly’s most unusual experience actually happened before joining DMT Facilities.

“Nothing to strange I don’t think at DMT, however, my previous job took me to a property where they played darts with heroin needles..”
